Willoughby Well:
Your Practitioner and Partner
Meet Lianna Willoughby,
Founder | Integrative Wellness Partner | Business Partner to Founder-Led Companies
I’ve always been drawn to the moments when life or work has become more complicated than it needs to be.
Sometimes that shows up in the body—stress, anxiety, pain, exhaustion, or simply not feeling like yourself.
Sometimes it shows up in a business—too many decisions, important knowledge scattered across people and tools, and a founder who no longer has enough room to think creatively or focus on what comes next.
My work is about helping people understand what’s really going on, identify what will make the greatest difference, and move forward with a practical plan and thoughtful support.
For individuals, that may include nervous system support, gentle bodywork through Jin Shin Jyutsu, personalized wellness guidance, and trusted resources.
For founder-led businesses, it means organizing what the business already knows, simplifying everyday work, and implementing practical AI-supported systems that give leaders more time to think, lead, and build.
And through Retreat East Co., I’ve created a place where facilitators, founders, practitioners, and small teams can step away from the pace of everyday life and gather with intention.
A path I never expected
I discovered Jin Shin Jyutsu during a pivotal time in my life, when stress and imbalance had left me searching for answers that conventional medicine wasn’t providing.
Experiencing its subtle but powerful effect on my nervous system changed the way I understood wellbeing. It inspired what has now become more than eight years of study, practice, and supporting others through stress, anxiety, burnout, chronic pain, pregnancy, postpartum, and major life transitions.
As a certified Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner and integrative wellness partner, I offer gentle hands-on sessions, simple self-help practices, and personalized guidance for people who feel overwhelmed by the wellness world and aren’t sure where to begin.
I don’t believe people need more trends, protocols, or information.
They need help understanding themselves, deciding what support is right for them, and taking a clear next step.
The founder’s second-in-command
Long before AI entered the conversation, I spent more than fifteen years working behind the scenes with founders and leadership teams as a trusted second-in-command, strategist, operator, researcher, client partner, and sounding board.
I was rarely the person on the stage.
I was the person helping turn the vision into something real.
My role evolved with the needs of the business. I helped founders organize ideas, make difficult decisions, build research and delivery systems, write proposals, guide teams, manage clients and partners, and keep meaningful work moving.
That experience taught me that most founders don’t need more ideas.
They need someone who can quickly understand the whole picture, help determine what matters now, and create a practical way forward.
Today, I bring that same perspective to founder-led businesses that know AI matters but don’t want to become AI experts themselves.
I begin by understanding how the business actually works, what depends too heavily on the founder, where important knowledge lives, and which recurring tasks are taking time away from leadership, creativity, relationships, and growth.
Then I organize the knowledge, identify the most useful opportunities, and build practical AI-supported systems that make the business easier to run.
The goal isn’t more technology.
It’s giving founders back the time and headspace to lead, think, and build.
Retreat East Co.
In 2022, I founded Retreat East Co., an intentionally designed retreat home on 105 acres in New York’s Catskill Mountains.
The property was created for facilitators, practitioners, coaches, founders, and small teams to host intimate retreats, workshops, leadership offsites, and meaningful gatherings in nature.
Retreat East isn’t a retreat program I run. It’s a thoughtfully designed place where other people can bring their work, communities, and ideas to life.
It’s another expression of the work I’ve always been drawn to: helping people step away from the pace of everyday life, see things differently, and connect more deeply with themselves and one another.
One shared approach
Jin Shin Jyutsu, founder partnership, AI implementation, and retreat experiences may look like very different forms of work.
For me, they’re connected by the same intention.
I help people move through complexity with greater clarity, confidence, and support.
Whether you’re trying to feel well again, build a business that no longer depends on everything living in your head, or bring people together for meaningful work, you don’t need another generic solution.
You need a thoughtful partner who can help you understand what’s needed, create a practical path forward, and support you as you put it into practice.
